Jingle & Mingle was established early in 2025 when a group of colleagues got together looking to make a difference to people over the festive period.
Christmas is a difficult time for many, and the financial pressure or burden of feeling alone can be overwhelming.
We set out to change this so far as possible and tasked ourselves with setting up a Community Christmas Day Meal Event, which turned into 7 events held across different towns and locations in Aberdeenshire.
We hosted our 2025 events in Banff, Turriff, Inverurie, Westhill, Ellon, Stonehaven and Banchory, which we could not have done without the support of each of those communities.
We worked in partnership with Children's Charity, Abernecessities who were able to support us by ensuring that every child attending our events received a Christmas present, which was a wonderful gesture and surprise for the children and parents alike. And we hope to do so again.
Having run these events successfully in 2025, and on reviewing the overwhelming and positive feedback received, we agreed to keep going.
We registered with OSCR and were granted SCIO Charity Status early in 2026.
At the same time, we agreed to expand the project to include two new locations in Aberdeenshire, Peterhead and Fraserburgh.
We are an inclusive organisation and everyone is welcome to attend our events.
There is always an extra seat at our tables, no questions asked. No-one should have to spend Christmas alone.
